Kiymali Pide

Ingredients:
  • - For the dough -
  • 2 cup
    Flour (all-purpose)
  • 1 tsp
    Instant Yeast
  • 1 tsp
    Salt
  • 1 tsp
    Sugar
  • 3/4 cup
    Water (warm)
  • 2 tbsp
    Olive Oil
  • - For the filling -
  • 1 tbsp
    Olive Oil
  • 1 pcs
    Onion (finely, chopped)
  • 2 cloves
    Garlic (minced)
  • 300 g
    Ground Beef
  • 1 tsp
    Paprika
  • 1 tsp
    Cumin
  • 2 pcs
    Tomatoes (diced)
  • 1 pcs
    Green Bell Pepper (diced)
  • 1/4 cup
    Parsley (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
Directions:
  • 1
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, salt, and sugar. Gradually add the warm water and olive oil, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • 2
While the dough is resting, prepare the filling. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes. Add the ground beef, paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper, and cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Stir in the diced tomatoes, bell pepper, and chopped parsley, and cook for another 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • 3
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • 4
Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll out each portion into an oval shape, about 1/4 inch thick. Place the rolled-out dough on the prepared baking sheet.
  • 5
Spoon the prepared filling evenly onto each piece of dough, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges of the dough over the filling to form a boat shape, pinching the edges together to seal.
  • 6
Bake the pides in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and crispy.
  • 7
